藍染めの扇子 indigo dyed sensu

急に作ってみたくなって、
藍染めの余った布で、扇子を作ってみました🎵。

母が藍染をしていた頃の布がたくさん余っているんです。
それらをたくさんもらったのですが、
なにをつくったらいいものか、
ずっと考えていました。
やっと、みつけたのが扇子。
いい感じに仕上がったかな。💘


I made a Japanese folding fun, "sensu"
 using indigo dyed scrap fabric.

My mother used to do indigo dyeing,
 so there are lots of scrap fabric left over.
Since she gave them to me
I've been wondering what to do with them.
Finally, I found out what to make.
It looks nice, doesn't it?

I bought the middle and the bottom ones at Daiso.

Indigo dyed parasol for my friend お友達へ藍染めのパラソル

巻き上げ絞りで藍染めのパラソルを作ってます💘

I'm making an indigo dyed umbrella
with makiage-shibori pattern.

いろいろな大きさの丸の型紙をつくって、

あっちに置いたり、
こっちに置いたり、
やっぱり、あっちに置いたり。
悩むところです。

I made several different sizes of circles
and placed them on the umbrella cover.
I placed them here and there,
then here again with thinking of a balance of circles.
It was the most difficult part of the process.

それが終わると、いよいよ

次は、針と糸の出番！
丸く
チクチクしたら、
きゅっと絞って、
バルーン上になった部分をきれいに整えて、
ぐるぐると
巻き上げて、先までいったら、また　
ぐるぐると
巻き下げていく作業の繰り返し。

I made several different size of circle

I placed them here and there,

そして

先週金曜日より3日間かけて
本藍染矢野工場で染め始めました。
甕を変えて計30回もの作業！
今回も細かい部分を丁寧に染めるため素手で作業しました。
皮膚は何とか落ちていきますが、
爪はしっかりと藍色です。

Finally, dyeing.
I dyed it by changing the indigo vat 30 times at Hon Aizme Yano Kojo.
Almost every six times of dipping and airing,
I changed the dyeing vats,
I didn't wear gloves to dye, so my hands are blue now.



明後日絞りの糸をほどく予定です。
ドキドキ

 the day after tomorrow,
I'm going to unstitch it.

主人からのリクエスト😉

釣り🐟が好きなので、

魚一匹🐟デザインしました！！

それから、
マルバツゲームみたいな感じのデザインも🎲
考えてみました。

今回は、
魚のデザインのみ染めてみました。
仕上がりが楽しみです💘。

My husband has been asking me

to make some indigo dyed T-shirts for him😄.

Since he likes fishing very much,
I decided to design a fish 🐟and waves for one,
and tic tac toe for another one.


I dyed the one with fish pattern indigo blue first.
I'm looking forward to finishing it💘💘💘.

阿波藍アート展 「藍のけしき」の募集 Awa Indigo Art Project

徳島の阿波藍のプロジェクト💘を見つけました👀！
来年一月に阿波藍アート展「藍のけしき」が開催されるらしいのです。
その製作者300名のボランティア募集！
（先着順で6月26日まで）
すぐにメールで申し込みしました😃。


I found an upcoming Awa indigo project in Tokushima.
It is going to be held next January.
The title is Awa Indigo Blue Art exhibition "indigo view"
The project is looking for 300 participants.
（It is a first-come first served basis till June 26th.)

So I've already applied for it.

内容は、
阿波藍で染めた布を参加者が
自分の生活スタイルに合わせて5か月間共に過ごすというもの。
5か月後、それを持ち寄って
何かをするらしい・・・。
わくわくします～💖

The content is as follows:
Each participant will live with a piece of indigo dyed fabric,
and 5 months later, in January 2018,
it will be collected to create something.
Sounds exciting, doesn't it!?

To Tokushima 徳島へ

横浜から大阪、そして徳島へ移動。
いつもの　なが～いバスの旅

写真は、大阪から徳島へのバス。

朝降っていた雨もやみ、お日様が顔をのぞかせてました。
ほっとする田舎の風景。

I traveled from Yokohama to Osaka,
and
from Osaka to Tokushima.
It was a long trip by bus as usual.

I took two pictures (below) from the bus
while traveling from Osaka to Tokushima.

It stopped raining and the sun smiled down on me again.
 The view from the window made me feel relaxed.

途中の淡路島では、

棚田に水が張られてて、

一瞬でしたが、とてもキレかったです。

緑が多く、ほっとする移動です。

There were some rice terraces which were full of water in Awaji Island.  

They were beautiful like diamonds.

淡路から四国への大鳴門峡橋では、

渦潮が起こる場所では、白波がたくさん立っていました。

On the bridge to Shikoku Island,

I could see white waves in certain areas
where whirling current could be seen.

藍染教室で、

いよいよ日傘を染めます。

楽しみ～

In Tokushima, I'm going to dye one umbrella cover indigo blue.

I'm looking forward to it.

Handmade Parasols１ 日傘づくり１

梅雨🌂入りして、
なんだかすっきりしない天気が
つづいてます。

Now, it is a rainy season.
It has been cloudy and rainy recently.


今、

日傘の布の部分を作成中🌂。
なんと、6本分、同時進行で！
そのうち1本は、
お友達から頼まれているものです。
来月仕上げると、今シーズンから使ってもらえるので
丁寧に、愛情込めて作ってます～💘💘💘。

I'm making six umbrella covers now.
One of them for my friend.
I want to give it her next month, so
she will be able to use it this summer.
I'm making all of them with love.


綺麗に作るために、
先月手芸店で
日傘の講習会に参加しました😃。
だから、前回よりもいいものができる事間違いなし！

Last month, I took a one day umbrella making workshop
to improve my skill.
So I'm sure I'll be able to make better ones.

フォトスタイリング2級認定証 Certificate for photo styling

昨日はフォトスタイリングのレッスン2回目。

レッスン前に、

フォトスタイリング2級認定証をいただきました。

宿題提出が大変だったから、
めちゃ、うれしい～💘。

Yesterday was the second day for the photo styling course.
Before the lesson,
I received a certificate for the photo styling course Step 2.
I was too excited to get it
because I had a hard time to submit the assignment.

インディゴ・ティンクチャー作る！

今年2月に作った

インディゴ・ティンクチャー

後、ちょっとになってしまいました。

I made indigo tincture this February.

I'm almost run out of it.

乾燥した藍の葉っぱがまだあるので、

今週作ろうかなぁ。

I have still dried indigo leaves, so

I'll make indigo tincture again.

主に使ったのは

肌荒れ防止。

手や腕に

シュッシュッ。

これからの季節は、

畑仕事で虫よけに

シュッシュしたいと思います。

I used it for preventing rough skin.

For coming summer, I'm going to use it for insect repellent as well.

それでは、

ティンクチャーを作るために

ウオッカ💖をかいにいかなくては！💖

Now, I have to buy vodka to make indigo tincture.

藍ランナー・サクランボマラソン Indigo runner・cherry marathon

先々週末は

山形県で行われた
第16回果樹王国ひがしねさくらんぼマラソン🍒🍒🍒に

参加～🏃🏃。

ランナーにとって、

とても人気のある大会と聞いていたので

とっても楽しみにしていました💖。



A week last Sunday,
my husband and I participated in the 16th
Kajyu Okoku Higashine Cherry Marathon🍒🍒🍒.

It has been getting a high reputation among the runners, so
we were looking forward the day.




会場そばの駐車場に車を止めて降りると、
カッコウの声🐦♪
静かな湖畔はないけれど、
サクランボの果樹園があちこちにありました。、
まだ、熟していない青いサクランボが
たくさんなっていました💖。


There was a parking lot near the venue.
When we got off the car, we could hear kakoo singing🐦.
There were no mountains or lakes,
but there are lots of cherry orchards.
The trees had lots of young cherries on them.




ハーフマラソンは
距離こそ短いけれど、
参加するランナーさんのスピードが速い！
その流れにのって一緒になって走ったので、
ちょっときつかったかな～💦💨。


This is the half marathon event, so
many runner ran faster than the full marathon.
I ran with the flow of them.
It was a little tough to me💦💨💨💨.



でも、
沿道での声援は素晴らしかったです。
小さな子供たちから、
年配の農園の方々まで
小さな町がひとつになって
大会を盛り上げてくれていました。
途中のエイドで水分補給はもちろん、
自主的なボランティアさんたちの、
サクランボがたまらなく美味しかったです！

There are lot of people cheering along the course,
from small children to senior farmers.
They unified together to make it the event more exciting.
The water supply at the aid stations was well organized, and
the cherries at the volunteer stations were great.

口の中に入れると、
パリッと皮がわれて、
中からジューシーな甘酸っぱさが
口いっぱいに広がって
あ～💕
うれしいな～💕💕
おいしいな～💕💕💕
で、
また、がんばろう💪
ってな気分に。

When I threw it into my mouth,
the cold crispy skin of cherry broke,
then sweet and sour taste spread fully in the mouth.
It made me uplifted.
I thanked for their hospitality

あ、もちろん

藍染めのTシャツを着て走りました！

走っていると、

「綺麗なTシャツですね。」と、

他のランナーさんから声をかけてもらいました。

「ありがとうございます！徳島から来ました。」

I'm an indigo-loving runner,
so I wore an indigo dyed T-shirt with shibori pattern.
Some runners said
"You look nice on the T-shirt!"
I told them
"Thank you!
I'm from Tokushima.
This is an indigo dyed T-shirt!."

山形のやさしさと美味しさを

思う存分楽しめた大会でした。
でも、
素晴らしかったのは、
それだけでは　なかったんです💖

I really enjoyed this marathon event.
BUT
There was one more surprise to me in the event.

「遠来者賞」として、

佐藤錦500グラムひと箱🍒🍒🍒🎁、

化粧箱に入ったものを,頂いちゃいました。

感激でした！🎀。

来年もぜひ参加したいです！

I received an box of cherries🎁🍒🍒🍒
as an award ”Runners who came from the long distance."

My husband an I were so grateful to the surprise.
We'd love to participate in the event next year.

試作 藍のボールペン Trial indigo dyed ballpoint pen

試作の

藍染めのボールペンが完成。

もっとこうしたほうがいいな、

という点がたくさん！

例えば、濃く染まっているので

木目が見えない・・(´;ω;｀)

これからも

試行錯誤重ねていこうと思います。

Finally,

I made an indigo dyed ballpoint pen.

There are so many things to improve to create

the one what I want.

For example,

It was dyed well, but a little too much, 

so there are little woody taste.

I'll repeat trial and error to make 

a beautiful indigo dyed ballpoint pen.

藍と一緒に横浜へ Trip with Indigo plants

6月に入りましたね。

今年の梅雨🌂は、いつやってくるのでしょう？

ところで、
先月末

1週間、実家徳島に帰省していました。

その間は、

チェーンソー💦や、草刈り機で

実家の庭の樹木を切断したり、

オリーブガーデンの手入れをしたり、大忙し。

本藍染矢野工場へ行く時間もなく、残念でした。

こちらのブログも、お休みしました💤。

横浜に戻ったので、またブログ復活です。

It's already June!
As for June, it is a rainy season.
I wonder when it comes here.

By the way,
I went back to my hometown,Tokushima
at the end of May.
I had lots of things to do.
Operating a chainesaw and a weed cutter
became a part of my routine works now.
It was scary to use them at the first time, but soon it became fun.
I was very sorry that I didn't have any time for indigo dyeing
at Hon Aizome Yano Kojo, or post on my blog.
Now, I'm in Yokohama and I can update my status on it.

実家の庭に

こぼれ種で大きくなっている藍。

横浜に、連れてきちゃいました。

藍ちゃん、バスの旅で、

葉っぱがボロボロになったけど、

がんばって一緒についてきてくれました。

When I left my hometown, I put some indigo plants in my bag,
and brought them to Yokohama with me.
It was a long trip by bus.
Some parts of the leaves got damaged and became blue,
but they are all fine, now.


プランターと土を買ってきて、
すぐに植え替えしました。

I bought soil and some containers for them, then
I planted them.
Grow! Grow! Grow!

葉っぱが痛んでる・・・でも元気！
some damages on the leaves after a long trip
from Tokushima to Yokohama,
but they are OK!
